American Heldentenor Mark Duffin has sung over 60 roles in major opera houses throughout the United States, Europe, and South America. Opera International calls him “a true hope, endowed with an imposing stage presence and a voice of refined style and excellent projection” and Opera News says “Strong, swaggering . . . Mark Duffin cut a fine figure vocally and dramatically.” Receiving critical acclaim in the title role in Katharina Wagner’s new production of Rienzi, Mark has recently added Der Ring des Nibelungen to his repertoire (in addition to Rienzi, Tannhäuser, Tristan, Parsifal, and Erik), covering both Siegmund and Siegfried in Teatro Colón’s Ring in One Evening and Siegfried in the Stephen Wadsworth Ring at Seattle Opera and at the Washington National Opera in Francesca Zambello’s Ring Cycle at the Kennedy Center. He made his Carnegie Hall debut in Krenek’s Der Diktator and Strauss' Friedenstag with the American Symphony Orchestra.In addition to his performing schedule, he maintains an active vocal studio in New York City and offers remote lessons via Zoom, with students throughout the US and international students from Europe, China and South America. His students range from aspiring young singers to established professionals, from college-preparatory to colleges, conservatories, apprentice programs and professional opera houses worldwide.
